WOLF OUTSIDE

an exploration of freedom

traveling for insight and pretty pictures

It all began with the fable called The Dog and the Wolf:

A Wolf, seeing a large Dog with a collar on, asked him:

“Who put that collar round your neck, and fed you to be so sleek?” “My master,” answered the Dog.

“Then,” said the Wolf, “may no friend of mine be treated like this; a collar is as grievous as starvation.”

It must have been somewhere in high school where I first heard the Aesop tale of the Dog and the Wolf. Ever since, I always valued freedom over having any obligations that tie me down. No matter the benefits.

I’ve traveled to a bunch of places and went on a binge. I saw pretty things and it made me think about a lot of things. I took a bunch of pictures and I don’t want them just sitting on my hard drives. And frankly, I’m a bit paranoid that some sort of disaster will wipe it all away.

I tend to focus on the small little peculiar details that makes daily life just a bit different in other countries and cities. But best believe I’m going to take pictures of the big tourist attractions. And you best believe I will find something funny about the history behind it.

Alright, it’s my blog. This is where I think and talk about what it means to be free and other big brain thoughts. And share my experience so far in having complete control of my time and my location. There are some consequences to being able to do anything at anytime. Well, as far as my budget allows. But those are one of they key dilemmas that I explore frequently in my life. And the dilemma that is found in the Aesop fable of The Dog and the Wolf.

I have lived my life trying to be the wolf outside. And now I get to explore what that means.
